Last year, over the course of several months, I posted videos (as each one was released) from a special series by First Fruits of Zion/Vine of David expounding on Levertoff’s classic work, “Love and the Messianic Age.” Each video corresponds to each chapter of the book.
However, just this morning I noticed that I never posted the final video … so here it is! … along with all the other videos to complete this special series.
Video #12 (Final Video)
In this final video I highlight Levertoff’s central focus of love and its relationship to the Gospel of John, and to similar concepts and notions of love within Chassidut. Although Levertoff speaks from a previous generation, I personally find his words to be an essential message for today’s Messianic movement.
In video #11 I delve into some ideas on Love and the Gospel of John from the final chapter, the epilogue, of Levertoff’s book.
In Video #10 my friend and colleague, Rabbi Tzahi Shapira, expounds on Levertoff’s ideas of Repentance and Love.
Yahnatan Lasko addresses the idea of Prayer and Love. Watch it HERE.
In video #7 (Joy and Love -Part 2) I discuss the idea of the Torah as a joy rather than a burden. You can check it out HERE.
In video #6 I introduce the concept of “Joy and Love” in chapter four.
In the fifth video, Rabbi Tzahi Shapira introduces the third chapter of Levertoff’s work, “Fear and Love,” and powerfully illustrates the importance of hospitality as an act of partnering with G-d.
In the fourth video, Yahnatan Lasko further expounds on the idea of “The Law and Love,” particularly addressing the idea of where grace fits into all of this.
In the third video in the series, my good friend Yahnatan Lasko discusses the second chapter of Levertoff’s book on the topic of “The Law and Love.”
In the second video I delve into the first chapter of Levertoff’s book, and discuss the concept of “Knowledge and Love,” and what it means to be partners with G-d in the work of rememption.
In the first video I introduce Levertoff, his recently republished work, Love and the Messianic Age, and explain why Levertoff is such an important figure for us today. I also give a few introductory remarks on Jewish Mysticism.
If you have not already done so, make sure to check out all the other videos in the series! I hope you enjoy them and share them with others as well!
ALSO, check out the newest release from FFOZ/Vine of David regarding another great Messianic luminary – Rabbi Isaac Lichtenstein.
