Today we put ideological differences aside and remember fellow Jewish believer, Jhan Moskowitz, one of the founding members of Jews for Jesus. He was committed to our Messiah, Yeshua, and spent his life furthering the message of Yeshua to the Jewish people. His sudden passing today is a real loss for the entire body of Jewish believers in Yeshua – no matter what ideological side you are on. His sudden passing is a difficult reminder at just how fragile life is. One day you are here and the next day gone. Everything is truly in the hands of HaShem.
I first met Jhan back in 2007 at the first Borough Park Symposium and I was impressed by his laid back personality and friendliness. At the second Borough Park Symposium I had the honor of being a respondent to a paper he presented. My wife, Monique, has known Jhan even longer and grew up going to Summer camp with his daughters.
For another post remembering Jhan Moskowitz, check out the blog of my friend, Rabbi Matt Rosenberg.
May his memory be a blessing and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Moskowitz family and all who knew him.
Baruch Dayan HaEmet.
