Messianic Jewish Movement Responds to Christ at the Checkpoint

Today the International Messianic Jewish Alliance (IMJA), the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations (UMJC), and the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America (MJAA), have released a joint press release raising concerns about the upcoming Christ at the Checkpoint conference to be held in Bethlehem March 5-9, 2012.

The Rosh Pina Project blog has been doing a tremendous job in recent months of exposing the truth about this conference and has been highlighting the anti-Israel and anti-Zionist positions of the majority of its slated speakers. You can do a search on their blog for all their articles regarding Christ at the Checkpoint.

And you can read the full joint statement HERE.

About Rabbi Joshua

I'm a Rabbi, writer, thinker, mountain biker, father and husband ... not necessarily in that order. According to my wife, however, I'm just a big nerd. I have degrees in dead languages and ancient stuff. I have studied in various Jewish institutions, including an Orthodox yeshiva in Europe. I get in trouble for making friends with perfect strangers, and for standing on chairs to sing during Shabbos dinner. In addition to being the Senior Rabbi of Simchat Yisrael Messianic Synagogue in West Haven, CT, I write regularly for several publications and speak widely in congregations and conferences. My wife is a Southern-fried Jewish Beltway bandit and a smokin' hot human rights attorney... and please don’t take offense if I dump Tabasco sauce on your cooking.

You know, I’ve been trying to maintain a positive view of Christianity as I frame the last two articles of my “supersessionism” series for FFOZ’s “Messiah Journal” magazine, but events like “Christ at the Checkpoint” aren’t helping any.

OMG! the video on is well let’s just say I was dumbfounded. It sounds as if the whole conference is only about politics. And how is waiting in line humiliating? You can wait a pretty long time in Wal-Mart too. I mean I’ve been to bethlehem, in fact on the way back I went on one of the arab taxi vans. It wasn’t more humiliating than going through airport security. Anyways I’ll stop ranting, as it never leads to any good! 😉 Shabat Shalom

The Messiah (Christ) most definitely is being held up at the Checkpoint, that is the Checkpoint of these anti-Zionists’ hearts… and they would do good to let him in.
