Special Course Announcement

MJTI LogoBeginning next week I will be teaching a special six-week Foundation Course on Messianic Jewish Spirituality for the Messianic Jewish Theological Institute (MJTI).

Using the Siddur and the introductory works of Abraham Joshua Heschel, Paul Philip Levertoff and Isaac Lichtenstein, the course will explore ways Messianic Jewish spirituality may be nurtured in personal and communal life.

You can check out the syllabus HERE for more information.

The six-week course begins next week, January 5th, and will be offered both online and onsite at Ahavat Zion Synagogue in West Los Angeles.

MJTI’s Foundation Courses are adult education classes that are open to everyone. Less intensive then MJTI’s graduate courses, the Foundation courses are specifically designed to train and equip congregants and lay-leaders. And since they are not a part of the graduate program, a college degree is not necessarily required (but helpful). Additionally, MJTI is also offering a Foundation Certificate in Jewish Studies to those who complete five or more Foundation courses.

The cost for all 6 classes is only $150 (or $105 to audit) online, or only $99 if you take the class onsite. You can register for the class online HERE or by contacting the MJTI registrar at admin@mjti.org.

About Rabbi Joshua

I'm a Rabbi, writer, thinker, mountain biker, father and husband ... not necessarily in that order. According to my wife, however, I'm just a big nerd. I have degrees in dead languages and ancient stuff. I have studied in various Jewish institutions, including an Orthodox yeshiva in Europe. I get in trouble for making friends with perfect strangers, and for standing on chairs to sing during Shabbos dinner. In addition to being the Senior Rabbi of Beth Emunah Messianic Synagogue in Agoura Hills, CA, I write regularly for several publications and speak widely in congregations and conferences. My wife is a Southern-fried Jewish Beltway bandit and a smokin' hot human rights attorney... and please don’t take offense if I dump Tabasco sauce on your cooking.
