Reminds me of the Ba’al Shem Tov, founder of Chasidic Judaism. He would go around disguising himself to see how people would treat a person of lesser standing.
Cool idea.
It highlights the need for us as Messiah’s disciples to build up the kingdom through the way we live. That’s the real message of Torah, IMO, or at least, it’s a weightier issue of the Torah. All this arguing over theological matters amounts to nothing in comparison to the good works and compassion and mercy that we ought to be practicing.
